Hosting

This website runs on its own server operated by 1984 ehf., Reykjavík, Iceland. Iceland is part of the European Economic Area, where the GDPR applies directly.

Server logs

When a page is requested, the server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, status code, amount of data transferred, referrer and browser identifier. This data is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Contact form

When you use the enquiry form, I process the details you enter (name, company, email address, selected service, website, description, budget and timeframe) in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, for general enquiries Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The website does not store your details. They are sent through the mail server on the same machine to my mailbox at Google (Gmail). Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer to the USA is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023.

To prevent abuse, the IP address is used briefly in the server's memory to limit too many requests in a short time. It is not stored permanently.

I delete enquiries once they have been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply, for example when an enquiry becomes an order.

Booking a call

If you book a first call, I process the chosen time, your name, your email address and, if provided, company, phone number and topic in order to arrange and hold the call (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

These details are stored in a file on the server in Iceland so that no time is booked twice. Unconfirmed bookings are deleted after 30 minutes, confirmed ones 90 days after the call. The confirmation and a notification to me are sent by email, to my mailbox at Google (Gmail) as with the contact form.

Email, phone and WhatsApp

If you email me, the mail server on my server in Iceland receives the message and immediately forwards it to my mailbox at Google (Gmail) without storing it. If you call or message me on WhatsApp, I process your number and your message in order to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Messages sent via WhatsApp are also subject to WhatsApp's (Meta's) privacy policy.

Cookies, analytics and third-party services

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising services, and fonts are served from the site's own server. That is why I do not ask for consent.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Simply write to the email address above.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in the country where you live.
